Headquartered in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Uline has distribution centers in Chicago, Minneapolis, Allentown, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle, Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Mexicali, and Monterrey.

Uline was founded in 1980 by Liz and Richard Uihlein. After recognizing a local need for a shipping supply distributor, the Uihleins started Uline from their basement. The company's first product was the H-101 carton sizer. It sold well and encouraged the Uihleins to add more products to the catalog the following year.

The Uline headquarters is located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin on 200 acres. It has two buildings, the first built is 279,000 square feet and the newest addition is 300,000 square feet and was approved for construction in February 2016.
